London Hotels & Accommodation

Notorious for being one of the most expensive places to visit in the world, England's capital can be experienced on the cheap.

A city at the centre of the world, London is exciting, great for sightseeing and uncovering its history that stretches back some thousands of years. With an abundance of (free) museums you can lose hours if not days so set a timer when visiting.

Grab a show in the theatre district of Leicester Square, practice your wave at Buckingham Palace or pick up a London Pass for free entry into more than sixty top London attractions including Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London and Windsor Castle. Jump aboard an hourly high-speed train from London Station for an escape to the countryside where you can explore the lovely Leeds Castle in the heart of Kent, admire the White Cliffs of Dover or embark in a two-hour journey aboard a Eurostar train for a long lunch in Paris complete with a photo at the Eiffel Tower. But you don't need to travel far to find a spot of green, as London is one of the world's greenest capitals with the iconic Hyde Park and Regent Park located centrally in the city. Boasting more than 6,000 places to dine, London is home to 65 Michelin-starred restaurants and many celebrity chefs meaning you'll never be short of new places to eat. Its Tube, red buses and black taxis make getting around London quick and easy, and whatever your budget, there are plenty of trendy hotels, B&Bs, apartments and even camping grounds to rest your head at night. As an international hub, London is rather accessible with flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth but pack a book or two as it can take between 22 and 25 hours depending on the stopovers.
