The Klang River runs through it, and sometimes Kuala Lumpur is called Klang Valley. Once a little tin mining affair hacked out of a jungle, today it's a super-modern Asian city, typified through its Petronas Twin Towers. Other eye-grabbing sights include Dataran Mederka (Independence Square) and Sunway Lagoon.
KL International Airport has its own train station, and you can go straight to the city centre 50 km north on a KLIA Transit train.
